Every other TMS treats a 10-truck oversize fleet like a 10-truck dry-van fleet. OverSizeTMS™ is purpose-built for the real complexity of heavy haul — permits, axle weights, route surveys, pilot car coordination, and full dispatch in one place.
No credit card. No commitment. Be first in line when we launch.
Heavy-haul dispatcher dashboard. Same operational view as a standard TMS plus OSOW-specific surfaces — permits, route surveys, pilot car coordination — all in the left rail. Nothing buried in a settings tab.
The Problem
Today, oversize carriers cobble together 3–4 tools to run one load. Every competitor charges extra for the features you need most — or doesn't offer them at all.
Every oversize load needs permits from every state it crosses. No mainstream TMS manages this workflow. It lives in spreadsheets or worse — memory.
Legal weight limits vary by state, route, and bridge rating. Getting it wrong means denied permits or fines. Zero general TMS competitors automate this — and the specialty tools that do price the permit but don't run the load.
Many oversized loads require a physical survey before movement. That documentation lives in email, phone photos, and notepads — never tied to the load record.
Escort vehicle scheduling, certification verification, and coordination with state police — completely absent from every TMS platform on the market.
Heavy haul runs 10 trucks but needs 6 office staff. At $99/user that's $594/month before a single integration. You shouldn't pay for dispatchers like they're assets.
QuickBooks sync: $50/month extra. ELD integration: $30/truck extra. IFTA reporting: $25/quarter extra. The real cost is 2–4x the advertised price.
How we compare
General-purpose TMS platforms were built for dry van. They treat permits, route surveys, and pilot car coordination as bolt-on add-ons (if they support them at all). OverSizeTMS treats them as first-class records.

Built From Inside Heavy Haul
"OverSizeTMS grew out of hands-on experience inside heavy haul operations — and countless conversations with veteran dispatchers and business owners who voiced the same frustrations day after day. Most platforms on the market were built for dry van. Permits, axle weights, escorts, and route surveys lived in spreadsheets, action sheets, and emails because no system tracked them. So we built the tool the industry needed."

For standard carriers
OverSizeTMS handles the heavy-haul layer — permits, axle weights, route surveys, escorts. If your freight is dry van, reefer, flatbed, or general carrier work, check out FreightCoreTMS — same platform, same codebase, tuned for standard carriers and brokers running 1–50 trucks.
Frequently asked
Switching TMS is risky — and heavy haul has constraints that general TMS demos can't answer. Here are the honest ones.
Yes. Each permit is a first-class record on the load, with per-state rules (escort requirements, daylight-only, holiday restrictions, height pole, fee estimator) tracked independently. Multi-state permit packets are common — the dashboard surfaces all permits attached to a load in one view.
Yes — two separate engines cover this. The escort rule engine ships with per-state defaults — width and height thresholds, lead and chase pilot triggers, height pole, certified-escort credentials, daylight-only windows, holiday blackouts — for all 50 states plus DC. Rules cite the state admin code section directly so you can verify. The legal-limit engine (which flags loads that exceed posted dimensions before you file a permit) covers 11 most-traveled heavy-haul states today (AZ, CA, TX, NM, NV, UT, CO, OK, ID, OR, WA) plus FHWA Bridge Formula B nationwide, expanding each release. Override any rule at the tenant level or per load. We update the rule library quarterly.
Yes. Pilot car operators are tracked like drivers — name, contact, certification expiry, role preference (lead / chase / police), and per-state credentials. Dispatch them to load legs, track assignments, and see who's available. No mainstream TMS has this — most ask you to email a spreadsheet.
Yes — separate first-class workflow. State agency contacts, order timestamp, scheduled inspection time, multi-officer headcount, lead officer name and badge, plus stamps for arrival, inspection start, inspection end, roll, and release. Email confirmation and Level-1 inspection PDFs attach directly to the booking. Kept distinct from pilot cars (which are commercial contractors with per-mile billing) so the field semantics actually match how a DPS detail works.
Route surveys are records on the load: overhead clearances, bridge postings, railroad crossings, turning-radius concerns, recommended & alternate route, hazard waypoints. Approval status tracks through the dispatch workflow. Drivers see the active survey in the driver portal before they roll.
No. We import your customer book, locations, lane history, rate matrix, and commodity profiles from Excel, CSV, or your current TMS export. Most heavy-haul carriers are operational within 48 hours.
Only power units count — your tractors and straight trucks. Trailers (lowboys, RGNs, double drops, jeeps, boosters) are free. So is every dispatcher, billing person, and pilot car contact you add as a user. Unlimited seats on every plan above Solo. And every feature is available on every plan — there's no 'upgrade to unlock permits' or 'premium escort tracking' tier.
Month-to-month, cancel anytime. Full CSV export of customers, loads, permits, route surveys, pilot car records, and invoices — included on every plan. Your data is yours.
Drivers can use either. (1) The mobile-responsive driver portal runs in any phone browser today — loads, attached permits, active route survey, escort assignments, no install. (2) A native iOS and Android driver app ships at launch — same data, same login, installable from the App Store and Google Play for drivers who prefer it. Both are included on every plan.
Yes. OverSizeTMS captures mileage by state on every load and auto-populates state mileage from your truck's route in one click. The IFTA quarterly report shows per-jurisdiction tax owed and credits, with full fuel purchase reconciliation for multi-state operations.
Yes. Every Load and Dispatch shows forecast and severe-weather alerts at pickup and delivery with oversize-specific wind thresholds. Live NWS alert polygons appear on the fleet map. Loads are auto-flagged if they hit severe weather, with notifications to dispatchers. Drivers see conditions for their next stop in the driver portal.
Yes. OverSizeTMS includes an "OS Cost by State" report that rolls up permit fees, pilot car charges, and police / DPS escort costs per state. Makes lane bidding and customer quoting more accurate before you commit to a move.
Yes — WEX FleetSmart, EFS-Comdata, Comdata, and Mudflap are all live as of today. Connect your provider in Settings → Integrations → Fuel Card, paste your API credentials (EFS and Comdata both use FleetCor's Fleet Studio API, so they share the same credentials shape under the hood; Mudflap uses its own developer API), and OverSizeTMS auto-creates a fuel purchase record every time you fuel up. Each transaction is mapped to the right truck by card number and auto-feeds your IFTA quarterly report — no more manual fuel-purchase data entry. The integration is BYOK — your fuel card provider's API access is included with most fleet accounts at no extra cost from us.
Yes — two ways. (1) Universal: one click on any invoice generates a branded factoring submission PDF (Invoice + BOL + POD + rate-con merged) you can email or upload to any factor. (2) Native API: OTR Solutions, Denim, Triumph Business Capital, and RTS Financial are all live as of today — when you've connected your credentials in Settings → Integrations → Factoring, the same one click POSTs the packet directly to your factor's API and returns a real factor reference. Triumph and RTS both require a 2-3 week partner certification cycle, so factor that into your timeline. RTS is owned by McLeod Software, so if you're switching from McLeod LoadMaster you keep your existing RTS API setup. BYOK — bring your own factor account.
No. Every feature is included on every plan. There's no 'upgrade to unlock permits' or 'premium escort tracking' tier. The only differentiators reserved for Established (26–50 trucks) are services, not software gates: dedicated onboarding, free TMS data migration, and an advanced support SLA.
Established Fleet (26–50 trucks) comes with three services included: dedicated onboarding (we configure the system to your workflows), free data migration from your existing TMS, and an advanced support SLA with priority response. Volume pricing is negotiated in a quick conversation. Email [email protected] to talk.
OverSizeTMS is founder-led. The software is built and operated by someone with 12 years in the transportation industry — the last 10 spent in oversize and heavy haul, working nearly every link in the chain: piloting and escorting loads, running route surveys, dispatching moves, submitting and managing permits, and arranging pilot cars and bucket trucks to clear the route ahead of the freight. A decade of coordinating the moving parts that keep an oversize load legal and on schedule led to a simple conclusion: a TMS this opinionated about heavy-haul workflow can't be built by people who've never worked the moves themselves.
Every customer gets direct access to the person who built it. That's the trade for staying small — faster fixes, no script-reading tier-1 support, and a roadmap that responds to actual operator feedback instead of a feature committee.
Two ways to get started — both take less than 15 minutes.
